GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - The McLaughlin Research Institute in Great Falls has received a state grant of more than $900,000 to study diseases of the elderly.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://tinyurl.com/lcm2nf3 ) Gov. Steve Bullock announced the grant Monday from the Montana Department of Commerce.

McLaughlin and Benefis Health System are establishing the Montana Center for Aging Research and Memory Care to research neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.



Meg O’Leary, director of the Department of Commerce, says the grant came from a $1 million appropriation from the Legislature to promote biomedical sciences.
