DETROIT (AP) - Detroit police say a woman was found dead in her home, and her 8-month-old baby was alone in a crib.
Officer Jennifer Moreno tells the Detroit Free Press the newborn was not hurt, but was taken to the hospital Monday as a precaution.
According to police, the mother had trauma to the body, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.
WDIV-TV reports the victim’s mother became concerned because she had not heard from daughter for several days.
Officer Nicole Kirkwood tells WWJ-AM police responded and found her “lying face down upstairs.”
The name of the victim has not been released by police.
No arrests have been made.
