HANOVER, N.H. (AP) - Dartmouth College is conducting its annual test of its emergency notification systems, including a siren and loud speaker system that can be heard outdoors up to 10 miles from the Hanover campus.

The college plans to test its Outdoor Mass Notification System for approximately five to 15 minutes starting at 3 p.m. Monday. It also will test its DartAlert system, which sends automated messages to all Dartmouth-administered email accounts and landline phones, as well as to the personal phones of registered users.

In a real emergency, the systems would deliver messages with instructions such as stay inside, lock the doors and keep away from windows.
