SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A San Francisco police officer was injured after his patrol car collided with a vehicle driven by armed robbery suspects at the end of a chase.
Authorities say the crash occurred on a busy street just outside Golden Gate Park Saturday morning.
Officials say officers were responding to reports of an armed robbery in which a suspect allegedly fired a gunshot. The officers spotted the suspects in a vehicle and chased them until the cars collided in the Sunset District at Lincoln Way and 20th Avenue.
The driver, 48-year-old Kenneth Perry, was arrested for investigation of auto theft, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and other counts. His passenger, 37-year-old Joseph Depaoli, was booked for possession of ammunition and probation violation.
The officer was treated and released from a hospital.
