GARFIELD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have accused a 16-year-old with throwing a bottle that shattered a window on a fire truck and injured a volunteer firefighter in northern New Jersey.
The Garfield Fire Department was responding to a report of something burning when the incident occurred on Friday night.
Twenty-two-year-old firefighter Victoria Kovacs was treated for an eye injury caused by the broken glass.
The Record (https://bit.ly/1jXKEc3 ) newspaper reports Police Capt. Darren Sucorowski says the boy is charged as a juvenile with second-degree aggravated assault and interference with transportation.
The boy’s name has not been released because of his age.
