ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to a year in jail after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors following a hit-and-run accident.
Richard Garland of Rochester was accused of leaving the scene of an accident and driving after his license was revoked after a pedestrian was struck while crossing North Main Street in Rochester last September and suffered injuries.
Foster’s Daily Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1fMB9Fo) the 21-year-old Garland pleaded guilty last week. He was ordered to pay over $35,000 in restitution, to the pedestrian and to an insurance company.
Garland also was ordered to take a tour of the state prison and complete 40 hours of community service.
