LEONI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 65-year-old man reported missing earlier in the week had been found in a Jackson County pond.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports (https://bit.ly/1gNBnjA ) that Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety officers responded Tuesday afternoon to the pond in Leoni Township after an employee of a nearby business reported seeing a body in the water.

Detective Joseph Merritt says the dead man has been linked to a missing person report filed with the department on Monday. The man’s name hasn’t been released. He was last reported seen on Saturday. An autopsy is planned to determine cause of death.
