SCIO, N.Y. (AP) - State police say five people are recovering from injuries suffered when two cars collided on a rural road in New York’s Southern Tier.
Troopers say an 18-year-old driver from Wellsville slammed into a vehicle making a left turn Tuesday on a road in the Allegany County town of Scio (SYE’-oh), near the Pennsylvania border 70 miles south of Rochester.
Police say the driver of the first car and a passenger were injured, along with the 31-year-old Bolivar (BAHL’-uh-vur) woman driving the other car and her two passengers, including an 11-year-old girl.
Troopers say none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Police ticketed the 18-year-old was ticketed for unsafe passing and the other driver was ticketed for not having a valid license.
