RECTOR, Pa. (AP) - The search for a 34-year-old woman in a western Pennsylvania park ended after she texted emergency responders to assure them she was fine.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported (https://bit.ly/1lkgWu7 ) Friday that the Latrobe resident told officials that after she got a speeding ticket she fled to the woods of Linn Run State Park out of fear she may be arrested.
A Westmoreland County spokesman tells the paper the woman isn’t expected to face any charges related to the search.
Some 60 people, a bloodhound unit and a state police helicopter searched the 600-acre park most of Friday before the search was called off at about 9 p.m.
Authorities say she was apparently watching the search and didn’t want to be found.
