BOSTON (AP) - Mayor Martin Walsh will host a regional summit on gun trafficking.

The event will feature a mayor’s round table discussion on gun violence, best practices and challenges. Mayor Domenic Sarno of Springfield will participate.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Attorney’s Office will also speak about federal law enforcement efforts.



Walsh and Boston Police Commissioner William Evans are expected to make opening remarks.

The event will be held Thursday at Roxbury Community College.
