EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found following a report of a fire at a Eugene house and possible gunshots.
Eugene police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin says the incident happened shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday. A notification system quickly warned neighborhood residents to stay in their homes, but police later declared there was no ongoing public safety concern.
McLaughlin declined to release the man’s name, but says he did not live at the home.
Police have yet to say what caused his death.
McLaughlin says nobody else was hurt and there are no outstanding suspects.
