DELANO, Minn. (AP) - Authorities in central Minnesota are looking for whoever burglarized a widow’s home while she was attending her husband’s funeral.
Anne Crowley of Delano (DEHL’-uh-noh) arrived home with her children from the parish cemetery to find her house had been burglarized.
Crowley’s husband of 27 years, 50-year-old Steven Crowley, died in a highway crash. His funeral was held Wednesday in Delano, and he was buried that afternoon.
The Wright County sheriff’s office says the crime happened sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. Authorities twice checked on the house at the family’s request during that time, but didn’t see anything suspicious.
Sheriff’s Lt. Greg Findley tells the Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1ng0krF) the daylight break-in was obviously timed to coincide with the funeral.
Authorities don’t know yet what all was taken.
