SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in the Savannah area say a teenage girl is in critical condition after being struck by a car while attempting to walk across a highway.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police say the crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 80 on Wilmington Island.
Police said in a statement that 17-year-old Stacie Davis was walking north in the crosswalk at U.S. 80 and Debbie Drive when she was struck by a westbound Honda Civic.
She was taken to Memorial University Medical Center.
