BOSTON (AP) - An injured survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing is celebrating a personal milestone.
Marc Fucarile (FEW’-ka-rill) married his longtime fiancee, Jennifer Regan, at Fenway Park on Thursday.
Fucarile lost his right leg and suffered other serious injuries in last year’s attack. The 35-year-old Stoneham native, who now lives in Reading, was the last victim to be discharged from Massachusetts General Hospital.
Fucarile and Regan, who have a 6-year-old son Gavin, had put their wedding plans on hold for several months while he recovered from his injuries.
The couple, in a recent interview with the Associated Press, said they chose to get married this week in part to deflect any emotional toll from the bombing anniversary.
They hope to take a honeymoon next winter. On Thursday, they took a Boston Duck Tours ride with their wedding party.
