RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota jailer accused of raping a female inmate is scheduled to stand trial in early September.
Judge Robert Mandel reserved September 2-4 for the trial of 30-year-old Anthony Peet, of Oral.
Peet was arrested Feb. 16 in Bryan, Ohio, after authorities in Fall River County issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge that he raped the inmate in January. He has pleaded not guilty.
The Rapid City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1ndGmh0 ) that Mandel also has lowered Peet’s bond from $2 million to $500,000 but stipulated that Peet must remain under house arrest if he posts bond.
