EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A southwestern Illinois man is accused of homicide in connection with a woman’s deadly heroin overdose in January.
Prosecutors in Madison County have charged 29-year-old John Lance of Granite City with drug-induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Both are felonies.
Authorities say Lance provided the heroin on which 25-year-old Sara Brewer overdosed in her Granite City home. She died Jan. 13.
Lance’s bond has been set at $500,000. He was not in custody as of Thursday morning.
He does not have a listed home telephone number, and online court records do not show whether he has an attorney.
