BENTON, Ill. (AP) - A southern Illinois man accused of fatally shooting his wife in the back of the head has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder.
Sixty-six-year-old John P. Adams entered the not guilty pleas Wednesday in Franklin County Circuit Court in Benton.
Authorities say 52-year-old Kendra Adams was shot March 30 with a small-caliber handgun in the couple’s West Frankfort home. She died the next day at an Indiana hospital.
