Authorities: Woman, child hit in parking lot

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a woman and 2-year-old child were injured after the driver of a minivan backed into them in a parking lot.

Police said in a statement that they were hit Wednesday evening by a 16-year-old driver in Macomb County’s Shelby Township.

Police say the 36-year-old woman had what were described as serious injuries. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Shelby Township police are investigating and seeking witnesses.
