TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a suspect is in custody after a fatal car crash in Tucson.

Bystanders chased after the driver of a car Tucson police say ran a red light and allegedly caused the midtown accident Tuesday night.

Police say 22-year-old Miguel A. Carrizoza tried to run away after the car he was driving slammed into a vehicle on North Swan Road at East Speedway.

They say the impact sent the vehicle driven by 36-year-old Giovanni Sambrano into the patio area of a restaurant.

Sambrano was taken to a Tucson hospital where he died. No one at the restaurant was injured.

Police say Carrizoza is jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, felony criminal damage and leaving the scene of an accident.
