WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - One of the suspects in the fatal shooting of a Williston-area hobby rancher has been found guilty of hindering authorities investigating the case.
A jury on Wednesday returned the verdict against Issac Steen.
Authorities accused Steen of hindering law enforcement officers investigating the spring 2013 death of 58-year-old Jack Sjol (shohl). The Class C felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Steen’s attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1gBKksq ) authorities say Steen helped Ryan Stensaker keep Sjol’s body hidden. Stensaker is accused of killing Sjol and is scheduled for trial in July on a murder conspiracy charge.
Three other people also face charges in the killing.
