Swimmer dies off Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a swimmer has died after being pulled from the water off Orange County.

The Orange County Register says (https://bit.ly/1hF3Sk3 ) emergency crews responded to the Sunset Beach area north of Huntington Beach around 6 p.m. Monday following reports from lifeguards about a missing swimmer.

The swimmer was located and pulled from the water before being taken to a hospital.

Coroner’s Office officials confirmed that the male swimmer died shortly before 7:30 p.m. His name is not being released until family is notified of the death.

Authorities did not say how long the swimmer was missing before he was found.
