Holford told authorities the cellmate threatened to show him “what if feels like to be beaten to death.”
Forty-six-year-old Scott Benson was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and felony menacing in connection with the assault. He was in custody on a previous arrest on charges of possession of a controlled substance and DUI.
Holford faces charges including murder, assault and robbery in the March 31 death of Aaron Tuneberg, who was beaten with a baseball bat and golf club.
Jail records didn’t list attorneys for Benson or Holford.
