RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A former Grundy firefighter faces charges of starting two wildfires that burned 440 acres in Buchanan County.
The Virginia Department of Forestry said Tuesday that its investigators charged 19-year-old Shane Rife with four felony counts of woods arson.
The department says in a news release that Rife is accused of starting the 375-acre Airport Mountain fire and the 65-acre Spruce Pine fire in March.
The department says Rife is a former member of the Grundy Fire Department.
