WISE, Va. (AP) - The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is holding a two-week celebration of Chancellor Donna Price Henry’s inauguration.
The events kick off Monday with the college’s annual celebration of Thomas Jefferson’s nirthday. Other activities include an interfaith reflections event, a lecture by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Steven Greenblatt and a day of community service.
Henry will be formally inaugurated on April 22. She has served as chancellor since January 2013.
College spokeswoman Kathy Still tells The Bristol Herald Courier (https://bit.ly/OZ5VDz ) that college officials wanted to have a variety of events leading up to the inauguration so the entire campus could come together.
She says members of the U.Va. Board of Visitors, U.Va.-Wise’s College Board, UVa. President Teresa Sullivan and representatives from different student groups will participate in the inauguration ceremony.
