PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Multnomah County, Ore., sheriff’s spokesman says river patrol deputies responding to a report of a body in the Columbia River in the Portland area spotted another body floating mid-channel in the nearby Willamette River. The bodies - both adult men - have been recovered.
Lt. Steve Alexander says the sheriff’s river patrol recovered one body from the Willamette on Monday afternoon.
He says a Clark County, Wash., Fire and Rescue boat recovered the other body from the Columbia River near Reeder Beach.
The bodies have been turned over to the Multnomah County medical examiner’s office. They were not immediately identified.
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the deaths.
