KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Authorities are suspending on-water searches for a Kalamazoo man they believe fell through ice on a western Michigan lake.
MLive.com reports (https://bit.ly/1n75PZx ) Monday that officers are expected to continue foot patrols around Asylum Lake for 56-year-old Takashi Sugimori.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley tells MLive.com that there aren’t any immediate plans to send boats back out on the lake. Dive teams used sonar while searching the lake last week.
Sugimori last was seen April 2, telling his wife he planned to go cross-country skiing. His vehicle was found near Asylum Lake. His skis were in the vehicle and authorities found foot tracks leading to the lake.
