SAN DIEGO (AP) - Officials are investigating a series of small arson fires in San Diego.
Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson says six blazes were reported in a several-block span just east of downtown.
Trees and bushes were set ablaze, as well as material in trash bins, between 12:45 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Swanson says the total loss is estimated at about $1,000.
Officials are asking anyone with information on the fires to call arson investigators.
