FLINTSTONE, Ga. (AP) - Sheriff’s officials in northwestern Georgia say a kindergarten student died after being hit by a school bus.

Authorities have said the accident happened as students were arriving for classes at Chattanooga Valley Elementary School Monday morning in Flintsone - about seven miles south of Chattanooga. Authorities have said the 6-year-old boy had just gotten off of his school bus when it struck and killed him.

Walker County Schools Superintendent Damon Raines told the Rome News-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1t2nnrf) that counselors will at the school for the rest of the week.

The boy’s identity hasn’t been released, and it’s unclear if charges will be filed in the accident.
