TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police say someone deliberately ran a man down with a car before leaving him with fatal injuries.

Police spokesman Jeff Inorio says officers found the 43-year-old victim lying in an alleyway near 5th Avenue and 31st Street after receiving reports of a hit-and-run.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Inorio says the victim was likely chased before he was intentionally hit by the vehicle.

Police say the incident spanned several blocks and there could be more witnesses.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as possibly a silver, four-door sedan that is foreign-made.

Authorities say it would have substantial damage to both the left front and left rear areas.

They are asking for anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
