BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to 36 years to life in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a woman less than half his age.

George Tiba had been convicted in December of two counts of sexual assault, one count of second-degree burglary and one count of theft. A judge handed down the sentence Friday.

The Camera reported Saturday (https://bit.ly/1lTnzF3) that a jury determined that the 22-year-old woman he met at the Walrus Saloon in February 2013 was too drunk to consent to sex. A jury found that Tiba assaulted the victim twice in her home, stole some of her property and took sexually explicit pictures of her while she was incapacitated.

Tiba had maintained that the sex was consensual.
