WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Warm, dry weather has spurred officials to post a burn ban in Williams County.

The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1kh0bS3 ) that Williams, Divide, Mountrail and Burke counties rated high risk for brush and other fires on Friday. McKenzie County was rated as moderate risk.

High risk is defined by authorities as having “potential for rapid spreading and erratic behavior for fires that ignite.”
