ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York’s Office of Court Administration and the Civil Service Employees Association have reached a contract agreement covering 5,700 court employees with annual 2 percent annual salary increases.

The contract runs retroactively from April 2, 2011 through March 31, 2017.

Union president Danny Donohue says it addresses management’s need for changing the pay structure while protecting members’ rights.

Chief Administrative Judge Gail Prudenti says the contract balances the state’s fiscal constraints with the desire to increase pay and will provide raises for about 40 percent of the court system’s workers.

Raises are scheduled for October of this year, April 2015 and April 2016, with a $750 bonus March 31, 2017.
