ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a University of Michigan medical student has provided crucial details during testimony against an alleged accomplice.
Shaquille Jones says Dajeon Franklin fired the gun that killed Paul DeWolf last July at a fraternity house for medical students. He says the shooting occurred during a second trip to the house to look for things to steal.
Jones’ testimony Friday helped persuade a judge to order Franklin to stand trial on a murder charge in Washtenaw County. The Ann Arbor News (https://bit.ly/1sOfkye) reports that the victim’s blood was also found on Franklin’s shoes.
Jones is from North Charleston, S.C. He says he and co-defendant Joei Jordan of Sumter, S.C., were living with Jordan’s grandmother in Ypsilanti. Franklin is Jordan’s cousin.
