ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - A jury trial has been granted to the Buffalo Bills fan who landed on another spectator after falling from the upper deck at Ralph Wilson Stadium while sliding down a railing.
Local media report that an Orchard Park Town Court justice on Thursday granted Robert Hopkins’ request for a jury trial on assault and reckless endangerment charges. Jury selection is scheduled to start June 11.
The 29-year-old Hopkins was sliding down a railing during the Nov. 17 game against the New York Jets when he tumbled about 30 feet to the section below and landed on a man, injuring the man’s head, neck and back.
Hopkins’ fall was caught on a stadium camera. He was fired from his public relations job and is banned from the stadium.
