UTICA, Ill. (AP) - Residents in north-central Illinois are preparing for the tenth anniversary of a tornado that swept through the village of Utica, killing eight people.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1qld1Aw ) that a commemoration is planned for April 21 and a resident has put together a book that people can sign. The book is called “Reflection of a Twister Tragedy” and it’s on file at Utica Village Hall. It’s a bound compilation of news articles and photos taken after the April 20, 2004, tornado.

The tornado flattened a century-old tavern in the town of about 1,000 people about 90 miles southwest of Chicago. Eight people were found dead in the rubble.
