VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 73-year-old ex-convict has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a man in western Wayne County.
Ken Coskie of Belleville was arraigned Friday on a first-degree murder charge and other crimes. He needs to post $100,000 to get out of jail. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney yet.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Eric Williams. He was shot Wednesday night in Van Buren Township
The Michigan Corrections Department says Coskie’s criminal record goes back as far as the 1950s. He was discharged from parole in 1974.
The victim’s stepdaughter, Megan Delaney, says his death is puzzling. She says Williams “was like a big teddy bear.”
Coskie returns to court on April 23.
