LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 22-year-old man already facing an attempted rape charge has been indicted on a sex charge from a separate incident.
The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1sLuunC ) a Calcasieu Parish grand jury returned a sexual battery charge Thursday against Michael Anthony Dejean (Day’-zhawn) II, who is accused of battery against a 24-year-old on April 11, 2012.
Dejean was previously indicted on a sex charge from Nov. 14, 2013. He faces charges of attempted aggravated rape and illegal use of weapons, for which a trial before Judge Kent Savoie was set for Oct. 6.
Dejean is being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on $950,000 bond.
It was unclear whether Dejean has an attorney.
