BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) - An Adams County sheriff’s deputy who was sentenced to five years in prison for punching a teenager who was strapped to a gurney has been resentenced to two years of probation.
The district attorney’s office says 31-year-old David Morrow was resentenced Friday after serving less than a year in prison. On April 3, District Judge Katherine Delgado reduced his sentence, saying his behavior had been good since his arrest and he isn’t a threat to the community.
Morrow was convicted of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon for striking the 15-year-old boy inside the back of an ambulance in June 2011. The single blow broke the boy’s jaw.
Paramedics were taking the teen to a hospital because he seemed intoxicated and was combative. Morrow was fired after charges were filed.
