CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (AP) - An overnight fire in a suburban New York City community has displaced five families.

The blaze erupted at 1:10 a.m. in a commercial and residential building on Bedford Road in the hamlet of Chappaqua.

The building houses the Whispering Pines flower shop on the ground floor.



The building sustained heavy damage.

The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1hFLvX3 ) says the Red Cross was providing emergency shelter for six adults and one child.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
