Racine County District Attorney Rich Chiapete (chuh-PET’-ee) agreed to plead guilty to operating while intoxicated and hit-and-run driving.

Chiapete also agreed to plead guilty to a new citation of obstructing an officer.

Attorney Philip Marry, who is representing Chiapete, tells The Journal Times (https://bit.ly/1izqMW3 ) his client wanted to accept responsibility.

Chiapete agreed to pay $1,205 by June 16 and have his driver’s license revoked for a year. He also will have to install an ignition interlock on his vehicles and can only drive a vehicle with an ignition interlock for a year.
