ALBERTSON, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say the driver of a pickup truck was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a charter bus.
The accident in Albertson happened at about 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Nassau County police say 43-year-old Facundo Ponce, of Glen Head, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the 60-year-old bus driver a 38-year-old male passenger had to be extricated from the bus. Both were hospitalized in critical condition.
Police say it appears the pickup truck may have crossed a double-yellow line and collided head-on with the bus, which then veered into a tree.
The investigation is continuing.
