MEDIA, Pa. (AP) - A second-grade teacher at a suburban Philadelphia school who was accused last month of inappropriately touching three female students is facing dozens of additional charges.
Online court records show more charges were filed Monday against 54-year-old Paul Hochschwender of Broomall, who taught second grade at Darby Township School and once coached soccer and baseball for youth teams.
The new charges involve five more students and include nine counts of institutional sexual assault, 17 counts of indecent assault of a person under 13, and nine counts of corruption of minors.
Hochschwender was charged last month with similar offenses involving alleged incidents with three female students - two 7-year-olds and one 14-year-old. Authorities learned of the alleged sexual abuse after the mother of one of the girls went to police.
