MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man who nearly ran down Manchester police, a paramedic and a pedestrian with his car will spend 10-28 years behind bars.
Hillsborough County prosecutors say 37-year-old Christopher Varagianis fled in his vehicle after police and paramedics responded to a call that he was unconscious in his car.
He was convicted of five counts of reckless conduct after nearly hitting a paramedic, a pedestrian and three Manchester officers June 3.
Varagianis sought a 7-year sentence, saying his addiction to drugs fueled the incident.
Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Gillian Abramson gave him the sentence prosecutors recommended.
