SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A 68-year-old Virginia man is accused of threatening passengers, police and flight crew members after boarding a flight in Rapid City.
Kennedy Runner, of Hopewell, Va., is charged in federal court with one count of interference with flight crew members and attendants.
The incident happened last week. The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/1onAjrY) that Runner first threatened agents who checked his identity when he failed to present an identification card. He was eventually allowed to board the flight.
Court documents show that Runner threatened to kill several passengers as the plane taxied toward the runway, so the pilot returned the plane to the terminal. Runner allegedly threatened to kill officers who boarded the plane to remove him.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
