MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has pleaded guilty to a fatal crash that claimed the life of a father of three.
Brian Daly, of Valley Stream, pleaded guilty Monday to depraved indifference assault, manslaughter, criminal possession of a controlled substance and DWI.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice says Daly was drunk and high on cocaine when he broadsided a minivan driven by the 46-year-old victim. The crash occurred in Franklin Square on Feb. 27, 2013.
Rice says Daly was going over 70 mph in a 30 mph zone and ran several red lights before the crash.
The Franklin Square victim had three children ages 12, 9 and 8. His name wasn’t released.
