GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - The Greensboro City Council hopes to refill pantries of people who lost food during the recent winter storms.

The News & Record of Greensboro reported (https://bit.ly/1rYUOdN ) the city will collect canned goods and nonperishable items at Tuesday night’s council meeting at the Melvin Municipal Office Building. Food also will be collected from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at every local fire station.

The items will be given to Greensboro Urban Ministry, which will give out the donations through its food bank.
