STEELE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama state troopers say that at least one person has been killed in a crash that temporarily closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 59 northeast of Birmingham.

Authorities said the wreck happened Monday evening, near the Double Bridges Road overpass in the Steele area of St. Clair County.

Traffic late Monday night was being re-routed onto Highway 11 South at mile marker 172.



WBRC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1mHpFdA) that at least two vehicles were involved in the crash. Few other details were available early Tuesday morning.
