DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit judge has ordered three men to stand trial in the fatal shooting of a security guard who intervened during a carjacking outside a CVS pharmacy.
Investigator say a CVS customer alerted 24-year-old Courtney Meeks after seeing two men with guns ordering a woman and a child from her car in the parking lot of the CVS on Feb. 24. Police say Meeks was shot once in the neck when he approached the car.
On Tuesday, a district judge ruled there’s enough evidence to hold a trial for 24-year-old Jeremy V. Jackson, 20-year-old Jamare L. Rucker and 26-year-old Ronnie A. Anderson-Williams
Jackson and Rucker are charged with first-degree murder, while all three face armed robbery and firearms charges. They’re scheduled to appear April 8 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
