Truckers hit with $102 toll to cross George Washington Bridge

If you’re a trucker trying to cross the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan, prepare to pay up — $102 to be exact.

A new toll increase by the Port Authority — the third of five that are planned for the bridge — means a $12 price hike for truckers, according to a local news station. The increase pushes the toll from $90 to $102.

“It wipes us out. I mean, I came across here the other day and had to do a lot of deliveries, and it cost me over $400,” trucker David Edwards told the station.

Critics have argued that the toll increase was not needed since the Port Authority made a 31 percent profit in 2012.

“Where’s the money going? That’s what I’d like to know,” said another trucker, Mike Kilduff.
