Schools in an East Texas town are on lockdown after two prisoners escaped jail Tuesday morning, prompting a massive manhunt for the suspects police are considering very dangerous.
Brian Allen Tucker of Sulphur Springs and John Marlin King of Cumby escaped from the Hopkins County Jail. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says the men are out of their jail uniforms and it’s unknown whether they are armed or are still on foot, Fox News reports.
Sgt. Brad Cummings told Fox News that the men managed to “manipulate” the fencing surrounding the facility.
Tucker, 44, was being held on $1 million bond awaiting capital murder charges and King, 39, was being held on an evading arrest charge.
Schools in Sulphur Springs have been locked down amid the search.
